The Konig XB-16 Pro tire chains are great all-purpose, winter weather chains. If you live in an area where you're likely to get periodic snow and ice, these Konig chains are perfect because they're durable and easy to mount. If you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with V-bar links that can really bite into the ice to give you maximum traction.
These chains are among the easiest and fastest to install because they have built-in tensioners that you can just pull taut to adjust the fit. These tensioners allow the chains to fit your tires, no matter the profile or wear pattern. And because the tensioners are built-in, you never have to worry about losing them like you might with other chains on the market.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. Even these low-profile chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing these chains is incredibly simple.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks in the chains.
2. Slide the chain behind the tire and connect the ends of the blue cable, which will sit behind the tire.
3. Around front, connect the red hook to the red link.
4. At the bottom of the tire, feed the tensioning chain through the large clip and tug it until it's tight.
5. Feed the tensioning chain through as many red clips along the side chain as you can, leaving room to still be able to stretch the hook across the tire. Attach the hook to the side chain directly across from the last clip you ran the tensioner through. The hook should face away from your tire.
6. Drive forward around 325' (about the length of a football field) and stop. Check the chains and tighten them as needed.
Quick Tips:
To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Beautiful product fits perfectly and very robust made.
I cannot attest to the product quality as I have yet to use them. However, the customer service was excellent and I received the order in less than a week. One thing that happened though was that I ordered Thule chains and received Konig. Some online research informed me that Konig now owns Thule. However, the product description still shows rhem as Thule.
It arrived fast.
Someone from etrailer emailed my after I ordered it from their own email. He told me to talk to him with any questions or issues.
Other online retailers offer the same stuff as etrailer; it just is more expensive, and without etrailer's manuals and guidance. If you want an expert opinion, ask an expert.
Purchased this model as it has video instruction for all of their model. This konig is merged to Thule recently. But, they still have same model name and product details online.
Their shipping was pretty fast and accurate on ETA.
After our first use in a snowstorm, they seemed to perform well once we could get them on. One side appears to have an enlarged thread that is hard to fit in place and remove though. The directions were too cartoonish, but these weren’t that difficult to install once we could understand the vague directions.
I ordered these chains to assist in winter conditions. I will use these for our business and really appreciate the fast shipment!
Easy to install although we haven't used them yet this winter.
Quite easy to install. Will see how it holds up...
Easy to install. Fit well. Arrived in a timely manner. Great experience.
Once again -- Excellent service and timely shipment! Thanks
Arrived quickly and in nice plastic container. Very pleased with product and service.
These chains were way too light duty for me. They were too small to even get through the snow down to the ice. In addition, the connectors are very small and very difficult to hook together with gloves on. Once they fill with snow and ice and they freeze, good luck getting them off as well. Ended up buying a set of regular old chains for half the price
ordering and delivery both easy and timely,Konig included everything per website.Test fit in garage proves correct sizing, thank you
Very pleased with this purchase, I've done a few practice runs putting them on my Ram Promaster van but have not had to use them in a real snow situation in this 1st year (very happy with the ease of use factor and snug fit)
Fantastic customer service, constant follow up from etrailer.com. I need the product urgently and it arrived in a couple of days all the way to Canada! The product is very high quality and was easy to install. I have a cottage with a steep hill and when it’s full of ice it’s very tough to get up even with my 4x4 now I don’t have to put sand and salt down for 500 plus feet! Konig chains are a life saver.
Thank you!
I’ve been running this type of chain on all of my vehicles, including a motorhome for over 25 years they are the best
We received the package one week after we put in the order. Communicated with Customer Service one time and they were very prompt to respond. All told, a solid experience. Now we just have to figure out how to install....
After having these for a full winter season, I can say that they were well worth the purchase. 4.5 stars. Traction was supreme, and ease of install and removal is everything they say - awesome! Removed a star only because the plastic clips that route the little tensioning chain were quickly broken, and the rubber end is marginal. However when installed on my 2wd truck, I pulled a small box trailer up and down a very icy and steep slope (dirt road at scout camp) - without a hint of wheelspin. Same area immediately before chain install had cars and 4wd trucks stuck on a gentle grade. These are not smooth at all on pavement, but a lifesaver when needed.
Great set of chains. I was able to put on in the dark. It was a little trickier taking them off because you need to position the car so the link behind the wheel is accessible, but still easy to do.
