Today we're going to review part #PAL1310. This is the Pop and Lock custom locking tailgate handle. This is a custom fit part number. It is designed to fit the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra the new body style vehicle starting in 2007. What I would recommend on a custom fit product, go to our website and use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this will work for your application. This part will give you a key locking tailgate handle which will discourage theft of your cargo and your tailgate. It creates secure storage for your valuables when it's used with a Tonneau cover or a truck bed cap.
It's a tough armored steel lock which resists tampering and it is customized for your vehicle so this ABS plastic locking handle will replace your complete OEM tailgate handle on your truck. It is black which will compliment any other black trim on your truck. It's a very simple installation. There's no drilling or welding necessary. It requires only basic tools to install it. It will come with everything shown here.
It comes with the 2 keys, the replacement handle with the lock mechanism, all the hardware that's necessary, and a nice set of detailed instructions for installation. Basically when you take off your old handle and put this one in what you would end up doing is you take your key and right now it's in the unlocked position. What happens is you operate this handle, these 2 parts right here will be connected to rods on your tailgate. When you operate this now it'll move these and you'll be able to open your tailgate. If you go ahead and put the key into the lock and then you'll notice as you turn it it'll raise up and lock this into position. What happens is it'll lock these brackets that have the rods attached to them still and when you operate your handle the handle will still move, as you can see, but these brackets where the rods are will not move so you won't be able to open your tail, they'll be in the locked position.
Then when you go to unlock it, you just turn it to unlock it. When you operate this, it'll operate these parts with the rods on it. That should do it for the review on part #PAL1310, the Pop and Lock custom locking tailgate handle. .

Now I can lock my truck bed to go with my new bed cover i'm having installed.
Worked very well with the Tanneau cover we installed to keep things safe while at Hotels. It was very easy to install and has never been a problem hanging up or not locking .
Item was a perfect fit for my truck tailgate. I could not be more pleased. Still works like it should. Will diffidently use trailer again. You can't go wrong with these guys.

I have already had to take the lock out once because of corrosion and spray lubricant on it and will have to do that again soon. Not happy at all.
Received order very quick. Took me about 15 minutes to install. Everything included fit perfect and looks great. I could recommend to anyone wanting the added security. Will the lock stop a thief, NO but it will keep all but the most determined at bay.

After further review I am still completely satisfied with this product. Only thing that I fou to be a problem was the nut on the back of the lock was missing. Tear it all apart after installed and a quick trip to the hardware store to get what was needed. A bit more quality control could have prevented this.
Yep I got it and it looks nice but the function is really sub par, I really have to reef up on it to open....not to happy???
