Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro LED Fog Pod lights with brackets. These three inch LED fog pod lights are gonna give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. This is gonna be a great option for you to consider if you're thinking about upgrading the fog lights on your vehicle, and this is going to be a relatively easy and simple installation. You're gonna be able to install these lights virtually anywhere on your vehicle with these included mounting brackets.

As you can see on this light here, I do have a mounting bracket installed with the included hardware just to show you what this is going to look like with the bracket on. But these brackets are durable, they are constructed of aluminum, so they are going to include the hardware, the hardware to install the bracket to the light, and then the hardware to install the bracket to your vehicle. And what's nice about these brackets is they will allow you to adjust the angle of the light, and when you have that angle set just where you need it, just tighten down that hardware, and you will be good to go. Now as you can see, I have this connected to my power source already. Hopefully I'm not blinding you too much there.

I do wanna turn off my studio lights here and go out for a wide view here just to give you a better demonstration of what this light looks like. I'm gonna go ahead and turn this around and shine this on the wall behind me so I can show you that beam. That fog pattern beam is going to give you high intensity light at an extremely wide field of view as you can see there. This light has a color temperature of 3,000 Kelvin so that yellow color is gonna be fantastic for bad weather. It's gonna cut through the rain, and the snow, and the fog, so you're gonna have increased visibility with this light in bad weather conditions.

The raw lumen rating is 5,220 Lumens, the measured lumen rating is 2,700 Lumens. I'm gonna go ahead and turn my studio lights back on there, and even with my bright overhead studio lights on, you can still see that beam and see how bright this is. So lemme go ahead and turn this back around and go back in for a closeup view. The peak beam intensity of these lights is 10,900 Candela. And in case you don't know, Candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction.

Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular light bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of those ratings, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. The power draw on these lights is 2.7 amps, and this light is designed with a newer technology known as Custom TIR Optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't great at focusing all of the light where you want it, this custom design, large TIR optic, actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. That's gonna prevent normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As you probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose some of that light. You could lose up to 10% of that light just from its shining through a lens like that. So by making it a part of the lens, you're actually gonna pick up some efficiency. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsch style connector, so that pigtail is gonna plug right into the back of the light and then secure with a clip there on that connector. And this also has a breather patch that you see right there on the back that's gonna prevent any moisture buildup, and these heat sinks on the back of the housing are gonna do a great job of dissipating that heat quickly to increase the longevity of these lights, and this light has been built with high intensity LED chips, and they feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. The heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration, and testing is completed to SAE standards just like your factory lighting components on your vehicle. And in case you didn't know, an interesting point to make is that Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis, Missouri area. Now just some overall measurements, looking at the overall width from end to end, we are sitting right at about three and a quarter inches wide, and that's gonna be the same for our height. Again, three and a quarter inches tall, and then when you put it in the bracket, obviously that's going to extend the height. So measuring from the top of the light to the base of our bracket, we're sitting right at about three and three quarters inches tall. The depth is gonna be from the front of the light to the end of our heat sinks, right at about two and three eighths inches deep. Now both of these lights are going to draw high current, so they do require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you do wanna make sure that you're using wire that's sized at 16 gauge or larger.
