Hello everybody, Clayton here at etrailer.com. Here at etrailer.com, we install, test and review a lot of different products to help you as a customer make a more educated decision before your purchase. Today we're gonna be working on a 2021 Ford F-450. And we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'll be showing you how to install, the WeatherTech mud flaps. These mud flaps are gonna be a no-drill application and they are designed for duallies. So it's gonna give us a lot of good coverage.
There are a few good reasons to add mud flaps to your vehicle and, in our customer's case, he's gonna be using a big camper. So he wants to protect his camper from getting rock chips or get slung with mud. This time of year, it's snowy outside, so he doesn't wanna get any salt on his paint or on his camper. This is gonna be a good way to not only protect your vehicle but to protect anything you're towing. But now it's actually gonna match the front, because our truck came factory with front mud flaps.
So now it's gonna look really nice and add to that appearance. Our mud flaps are going to be molded from a high quality thermoplastic resin. So they're gonna hold up really good for a long time. They're gonna be nice and sturdy. So we're not gonna have to worry about them going down the road.
Now they are gonna be digitally contoured to fit our truck's wheel well here. And, as you can see, it sits nice and tight to our body lines. And one of my favorite features is gonna be the outside of our mud flap here. It sticks out just a little bit past our wheel well to help protect any of that extra dirt or debris from getting on our paint or whatever we're towing. When we look at a lot of the other mud flaps on the market, a lot of them sit really low to the ground.
And, personally, I'm not a fan of those 'cause they do get torn up if you go over a big curb or if you're off-roading or anything like that. So one thing I really do like about the WeatherTech mud flaps is they do sit a little bit higher while still giving you a good level of protection. Now they do sit about 13 1/2 inches from the ground. As I had mentioned, there are a lot of functional uses to add mud flaps for, but a lot of guys out there just like to add them for the appearance factor. I definitely like the way a truck looks with the mud flaps. It just looks complete and, on top of that, you are gonna get that extra protection. And, as I said, this is a no-drill kit. So it's gonna be pretty easy to get mounted up. In my professional opinion, this is definitely something I would do to my truck. With that being said, I'll walk you through how to get it installed now. To start the installation, we're gonna be working in the driver's side rear wheel well. To start, we're gonna want to remove our five plastic push pin fasteners. You can just grab a small, flat blade screwdriver, kinda pry out on that a little bit. We can grab our trim panel tool and just reach in here and pry out on our fasteners. Repeat that same process for our remaining fasteners. We're only gonna be reinstalling one of these factory push pins, but I do recommend keeping them. That way if any of your push pins break down the road, you'll have extras. We're now gonna have a little bolt that we need to remove here. We're gonna us a 5.5 millimeter socket. This will not be reinstalled. Now, behind our mud flap, we wanna remove our factory nut plate. Just kind of lift up carefully on that with a flat blade screwdriver. And kind of lift it up and out of the way. So right behind our mud flap here, on the front corner of our rear fender, we're gonna have a 10 millimeter nut and bolt that we need to remove. Finish unthreading that by hand so we don't drop it. And we're just gonna slide our spacer and nut out of the way. We wanna grab our black nut plates. We're just gonna slide those over our fender to where they line up with our factory holes. We are gonna leave this spot open. We now wanna grab our 3/16 plastic spacer. We're gonna take this and kinda pop this collar off of our hardware. There is gonna be this green silicon in there so you are gonna have to push kinda hard. Now we wanna take our bolt and we're gonna push it through the back corner of our mud flap. We'll add our spacer. And then we'll return our spacer block onto there. We're gonna leave a little bit of threads on the top. Now we're gonna take our mud flap, we're gonna take our factory liner, put it behind our mud flap, kinda lift this whole assembly up. We'll push that bolt and spacer through the hole in our fender. And on the back side we're gonna add that 10 millimeter nut that we removed earlier. Might kinda have to push up on it, just to get the threads to catch. But now we just wanna leave it loose so we can get everything lined up. We now wanna grab one of our factory push pins. There's gonna be this dimple in our mud flap. We're gonna slide our push pin through there. And we're gonna get it to line up with our factory liner. It might kinda help to pinch that push pin, just to help get everything lined up. We're now ready to install our new hardware. We're gonna grab our bolt and our flat washer. We're gonna slide that through the flat washer and you get them started in those locations. And you might have to move that inner liner around a little bit just to help get everything lined up. But we'll just get that started. We'll come back with a 1/4 inch socket and tighten it down. We'll repeat that same process for our two up here and our remaining on the bottom. Our last step is gonna be tightening down that 10 millimeter bolt. You don't have to over tighten it 'cause the bolt is going into plastic. Now it's nice and secure. We can now repeat this same process over on the passenger side. With everything tightened down on both sides, we're ready to hit the road. That's gonna do it for our look at and the installation of the WeatherTech mud flaps on our 2021 Ford F-450..

These premium mud flaps are easy to install and digitally designed to fit your car or truck. Protect your vehicle and your trailer from road debris. Flaps are constructed of durable thermoplastic resin.Great product! These mud flaps fit my 2019 F-350 dually very well and look superb! Installation was easy. The truck has factory installed front wheel well liners so the stock screws used to attach the front mud flaps were a little too short. Etrailer's shipping was extremely fast.
The fit is excellent and install was easy, they match up good enough with the original front splash guards from the Factory on my 21 f450, Note the dealership I ordered and bought my truck through cheated me in my opinion. I asked for Splash guards and the truck come to me from the factory with only front splash guards, it was like pushing a rope to get anything from the dealership so i order and installed these on the rear.
WeatherTech dually mud guards very easy install about 10 minutes a side.
I pull a fifth wheel camper and wanted to protect the front of if these work perfectly. Some states require mud flaps on dual rear wheel trucks towing a trailer or not. Installation was easy one thing I put the fender wells in front of the flaps figuring the mud would run down and off instead of building up on the top of the flap and going between it and the fender well. They look great and sturdy and do not move back and forth when on the road, Great set of flap E trailer is the best thanks
Fit our 2022 F350 perfectly. Was a tad difficult, but it's my fault as I installed rear wheel well covers first, but other than that these work perfect and look great! CHEAPER than what Ford offered.
May work well if you are not pulling a fifth wheel trailer. However, for my use they are too short and do not cover enough of the rear tires to protect the trailer from mud and rocks
These mud flaps fit perfectly on my F450, easy to install, excellent instructions. They are made of heavy durable material that will last a long time. Price is excellent for these mud flaps. One thing I would recommend is using a washer on the bottom support tab that is on the back of the mud flaps that attaches to fender, there is no washer for this in the kit.
Works but just not long enough for our F-450. Doesn’t keep mud off our 5th wheel
Good service, fast delivery and excellent/quality product. Etrailer’s how to install video was great. I installed both mud flaps in about 40 minutes. 25 minutes on the first one and 15 on the other. Very happy with this product.
The mud flaps were fairly easy to put on and have done exactly what we need, keep the mud off of our RV.
They're great, the only thing I think would make them better is if they were 3" to 5" longer. Then they'd be fantastic!
Will packed, good detailed instructions, easy to install. The left mud flap was a little to low too the truck holes but it still worked. They look great. On a F350 dully 2020
Installed and functioning correctly. Etrailer placed the order, received e-mail communications updating the delivery of products.
They're easy to install, fit nicely with the front stock flaps. I do wish they were longer, though. My trailer still gets lots of junk on it.
They have done a great job and still look New!!!

Perfect
Exactly what we needed for rear mud flaps on our new 2017 Ford F450. These were a piece of cake to install; maybe took 15 minutes.
Fit was very good only took 1/2 hour to do Would like a little more coverage F450s stand tall so I my have to try another product if it pits my LQ horse trailer up - right now would recommend
Excellent product. Purchased for my 2018 F350 Dually. Self install. Zero issues in 12 months of usage. Recommend this product.

The mud flaps are still in as new condition. This was a great purchase. Easy to install and holding up very well.
These are a good fit and the install was straight forward. Id prefer these to hang slightly lower to better block mud slinging, but I’m ok enough with these to not make a change to another brand.
Product fit as it should, works as it should..
Thanks guys for the excellent products!
Great fit and relatively easy to install on my 2021 F450
