Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're taking a quick look at the claw hammer from Performance Tools. So everybody's known what these are for. Helps you strike in a nail and then take it out if you make a mistake. The nice thing about it is that it has a pretty comfortable grip to it. Pretty well balanced.
It's got a little swell in the handle right here, which is about a little bit further out then the mid point. So it's pretty good weight to allow you to easily strike that nail into the surface that you're nailing into. It's made out of a sturdy steel construction for that hammer portion. And then the handle is made out of reinforced fiberglass. That steel head is a drop forged carbon steel, so it gives it that extra reliability and should be a pretty good addition to your tool set if you don't already have one or you misplaced it, lost it somewhere along the way. This guy is about 12 and a half inches long from end to end.
Our claw hammer portion about five, maybe five and an eighth inch, and the width overall, about an inch and an eighth. Weighs about 16 ounces, so just over a pound or just a pound. And that's pretty much all there is to it for our look at the claw hammer from Performance Tools. I hope this has been helpful in deciding if this is the right tool for you. We do have a lot of other options available here etrailer.com as far as tools. So check them out if you're interested.
Thanks for watching.
