This cat-back exhaust system improves engine performance and durability by boosting horsepower and torque. Its technologically advanced, Mandrel bent tubing and straight-through muffler allow the exhaust to flow more freely through the system.

Features:

  • Improves engine performance by increasing horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decreasing exhaust gas temperature
    • Mandrel bent tubes allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter through every curve
      • Unrestricted airflow decreases back pressure ("exhaust turbulence")
    • Straight-through muffler has a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through, end to end
      • Layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts
      • Contains no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow
  • Signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside the vehicle
  • All materials made with 100% stainless steel
  • Clamps and hangers included for installation
  • Lifetime warranty

Specs:

  • Tubing diameter: 3"
  • Muffler dimensions: 5" tall x 8" wide x 18" long
  • Tailpipe diameter: 2-1/2"
  • Tip diameter: 3-1/2"
  • Number of tips included: 2
  • Dual exhaust system
  • Split rear exit position

The cat-back system is the portion of the exhaust system from the outlet of the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. MagnaFlow systems have Mandrel bent tubes that allow for unrestricted airflow by maintaining the same diameter throughout every curve. This curvature leads to decreased back pressure.

MagnaFlow mufflers have a stainless steel perforated core that runs straight through the muffler, end to end, with no baffles, chambers or louvers that restrict airflow. A layer of stainless steel wool insulates the perforated core to absorb noise, shield high exhaust temperatures and prevent blowouts.

Together, the Mandrel bent tubes and straight-through muffler increase horsepower, torque and fuel efficiency and decrease exhaust gas temperature. MagnaFlow's signature sound is deep and throaty on throttle but quiet inside vehicles. All materials are made with 100 percent stainless steel. Clamps and hangers are included for installation. It includes a lifetime warranty.

Video Transcript for MagnaFlow Exhaust Installation - 2003 Dodge Ram

Today on our 2003 Dodge Ram Pick-Up we'll be installing the Magnaflow stainless steel cat back exhaust system, part number MF15788. To begin our install we'll first need to remove the old or manufacturers exhaust. To do this we'll start at the exhaust pipe where we'll need to make a cut measuring from the catalytic converter back 10 1/2 inches as per the instructions. We'll go ahead and make a mark. Then using a reciprocating saw we're going to go ahead and cut the exhaust pipe in half. Now we've made or cut we're ready to go ahead and remove everything from our cut back.

We'll go ahead and start removing the old exhaust system by removing the rubber isolators from the metal hangers. Note, to remove the old or manufactures exhaust, to make it easier to spray each one of the exhaust hangers with some spray lubricant before removing them. To remove the rubber isolators you can use a pry bar or pliers. Now with our old system removed we're ready to go ahead and start installing the new system. Starting with the forward exhaust pipe and our three inch clamp, we'll pout the clamp onto the manufacturers exhaust system and then slide our exhaust pipe into place.

Put the clamp into position and just install it finger tight. Next we'll install our second piece of 3 inch exhaust pipe by installing the clamp first followed by the exhaust pipe. We'll then put the hanger into the manufactures rubber isolator. Next we'll go ahead and install the muffler clamp followed by the muffler. Once we get these in position Im going to go ahead and use a yellow marker to mark the location, or depth, that we'll be installing each piece.

This will assist in verifying that each piece is in position before we tighten it down. Now with the muffler on to assist with the install Im going to go ahead and block it up into position before we install our tail pipes. In this case Ill be using a jack. Now with the muffler in position we're ready to go ahead and start installing our tail pipes. We'll find the corresponding tail pipe for the corresponding side, put our clamp into position, and then install the tail pipe into the back of the muffler.

We'll be doing the passenger side first. As we feed the tail pipe in the muffler we'll also help hold it into position by installing the metal hanger into the rubber isolator. Now we'll go ahead and repeat the same process over on the drivers side. Next we'll need to relocate the breather, or air tube, for the rear differential as it will make contact with the new tail pipe going out the drivers side. Using a zip tie we'll go ahead and hold it back to the break line which will keep it out of the way and away from the exhaust. Once we secure it we'll cut off the access from our zip tie to clean up the install look. Now we'll go ahead and put on the next piece of our tail pipe for each side. Put our clamp into position and then put the tail pipe into place feeding it into the rubber isolator here on the passenger side. On the drivers side we'll need to install a new hanger. There's a hole int eh frame pre-drilled by the manufacturer. Using the new hanger, block nut, and flange nut we can secure it to the frame. To do this we'll take the block nut and feed it into the frame. Then we'll take our flange nut and feed it onto the hanger. We'll screw it down far enough that it's out of the way and now we're ready to go ahead and feed the hanger into the block nut. Note, to make it easier to install the hanger the block nut if you can hold it with a screwdriver as you spin it into position. Once we have it threaded into the block nut we can now go ahead and install the new rubber isolator onto the hanger. We'll go ahead and tighten down the new hanger. We can now go ahead and install the tail pipe hanger into the rubber isolator. Next we'll go ahead and make sure that our exhaust system is positioned correctly and ready to be tightened down. Here at the rear of the drivers side Im going to use a bungee cord, or strap, to assist in holding the tail pipe in place as we tighten it down. When we go to tighten it down, as per the manufacturers recommendations we'll go ahead and check for clearance. We'll start at the front and work our way back. Keep in mind as we tighten down our exhaust clamps we'll check out yellow indicators to make sure the exhaust system hasn't moved while we were installing our tail pipes. Now that we've got our tail pipes tightened down and everything in position we'll go ahead and install our new exhaust tips. We'll put the clamp onto the exhaust tip and then feed the exhaust over the tail pipe. We'll center and level it up and then tighten it down. Now with both sides done we'll go ahead and start it up and check for leaks. With that this will complete the install of the Magnaflow stainless steel cat back exhaust system, part number MF15788, on our 2003 Doge Ram Pick-up.

Installation was easy, perfect fit, sounds great and engine roars! Thanks etrailer for the great customer service and MagnaFlow for a great product!

My Magnaflow cat back exhaust system on my 2016 VW GTI gave me more of the sound I wanted for my little sports car, and it looks so much better than the stock exhaust system. Meaning: the stock muffler, which shows horizontally at the rear of the vehicle, looks like an afterthought, just a metal can. The muffler on the Magnaflow is hidden in a pocket near the center of the undercarriage, so it doesn't show at all. What is visible at the rear are the dual stainless steel pipes. In addition, the exhaust tips on the Magnaflow are larger in diameter to accommodate the larger diameter pipes, and therefore look more aggressive. I am very satisfied with the setup.

Have to say that I was a bit skeptical at first, as I don't know anyone that has installed this particular kit. After installation, I am pleased to report that it has exceeded my high expectations. Kit came complete with everything needed to install (less the flange bolts). Initial sound was excellent...not too loud that it bothers the kids while they're sleeping in the car, but deep and loud enough to turn some heads. Excellent experience dealing with Etrailer as well. Will not hesitate to do business with them in the future. Thanks again for the super fast shipping and excellent customer service!

The exhaust system fit perfectly, sounds great, and looks stylish. The exhaust tone is not overly loud, yet sounds much more powerful than the stock system did.

Hardest part of installation was getting the truck high enough off the ground to get the factory exhaust over the axle. The new system was relatively easy and fit perfect. The spare tire does not fit underneath with this kit installed. I put a Tire Buddy in the bed to hold the full sized spare. The heavy duty factory receiver hitch is not in the way. System has a mellow purr that should be street legal everywhere yet is semi-aggressive. No blatting or popping. Chrome tips seem to always get black with soot and need to be cleaned often. This is a premium system and should last the life of your truck. It is well supported and doesn't vibrate. I highly recommend it. If Chevy had this as an option they would sell lots more trucks.

Bought the magnaflow exhaust for my 2015 GMC. Everyone says how great it sounds. Price was good and easy to install.

by:

Very good performance and sounds installed myself in driveway in under 45 minutes. service was great from e-trailer.

by:

I am well pleased with the system itself. This was actually a replacement under the warranty, and the previous system lasted seven years, here in the rust belt. Only complaint was the necessity of returning to manufacturer for inspection prior to receiving replacement. That meant my truck was down for about a month.

by:

nice and growly sounding, helpful tip spay some wd 40 on ends before fitting together, helps to slide the parts together easier.

by:

Great customer care and service from Chris and the Etrailer employee's. Got back to me to let me know of a item was back ordered from a manufacturer, didn't try to over sell me on products, asked what I'd like to do. Helped me make changes to my purchase that I needed right away. Two days later they now have my business shopping loyalty from here on out. I can't thank you guys enough.

by:

I believe it is the best exhaust on the market for this application. only thing is the exhaust tip needs bent down more as it touches the body and will melt plastic.

by:

Nice addition, not too loud and yet good rumble. Easy installation and would recommend it.

by:

Product nice. Fit could be better for trans am. Tail pipes don't show. Had to make extensions. Works ok now

by:

Not a direct FitSounds good but had to modify rear brackets and drill holes in the frame to install on 09 F150 crew cab..not impressed with fitment or installation time..modification time caused loss of profit..

by:

Not a great fit on my 2009This kit sounds and looks great, but the three bolt cat flange didnt fit my truck, it required machining to spread the holes further apart, just a heads up my honda ridgeline was built in june of 2009 and the install took 5 hrs because of this issue, however when finished it sounds and looks great.

by:

The MagnaFlow exhaust looks and sounds awesome. Not only that but the stainless steel construction and lifetime warranty gives me peace of mind.

by:

Excellent exhaust note through out the entire RPM range! Highly recommended this cat back system.

by:
