Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a quick look at Coghlan's Emergency Signal Mirror. Now, if you are looking to add helpful, affordable items to an emergency kit for roadside, camping, or boating emergencies, this would be a great item for you to consider. This mirror can reflect light on targets up to about 10 miles away to signal that you need help, and an item like this could be very helpful if you're in a deserted area where you have no cell phone service or maybe your cell phone has no charge. The targeting mesh grid in the center, helps you aim light more accurately and it utilizes a sight-grid reflective mesh to aim reflected light. The laminated glass is highly reflective, and I tested something like this very similar some time ago just to see how a signal mirror works, and it's real simple to use, you just go outside and while the sun is visible and it's not really obscured by clouds, you try to get the sun's reflection on a surface like your hand or maybe on the ground, somewhere where you can easily see it, and then once you have that reflection, you just slowly bring the mirror up to your eye, and then you will see a bright spot here in the sight, and then that is going to allow you then to target that light where you would like to aim it and where you would like the light to reflect off of. So this is very easy to use and it's very simple to just to have on hand in case an emergency arises it's not gonna be that complicated to use.
Now, this does have a hole right here in the corner for a lanyard, and instructions are also included on how to use the mirror on the back. And just some overall measurements for you, the overall length is gonna be sitting right at three inches long, and the overall width, we're gonna be sitting right at two inches wide, and it's about a quarter of an inch thick. Now, again, this is laminated glass, and Coghlan does have another version of this, it's acrylic, and it has the ability to float in water if you drop it in water, you can find that acrylic version of this on our website using item number CG36FV.
