Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness with the four fold flat trailer connector. This product fits a 2007 to 2012 Dodge Nitro and a 2008 to 2012 Jeep Liberty. It's going to provide your four way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. This is compatible with five fold, six fold, and seven fold adapters. Adapters are sold separately. It comes with a dust cap for the four way flat connector, that way you can cover up those connection points when the plugs not being used. The unit also features protective connection terminals to resist corrosion.

It's going to include your tail light converter, that's your black box right here. This is going to ensure that your vehicles wiring matches that of our trailers. The power modules going to connect directly to the vehicle battery through the wiring to avoid overloading the vehicles electrical system. Now, the units going to connect quickly and easily. All you have to do is locate the connection points in the rear cargo area and plug in your connectors.

Ones going to go to the passenger side of the vehicle, the other ones going to go to the drivers side. These are custom fit for your vehicle so the plugs on the harness are going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle. Push them together and then they snap lock together for a nice, tight, secure fit. Once you have those connected you'll need to mount your converter box to a nice, out of the way location. It's got slots on here so you can mount it using the provided cable ties. Then you make your ground connection.

Your ground wire is your white wire, it has a ring terminal already attached to it. You want to get that grounded to a nice, clean metal surface with the included grounding screw. Then you can run your hot lead to the vehicle batter, the hot lead is this red wire coming out of the converter box. Already has a butt connection attached to it. This gets connected to one end of the bundle or red wire, the other end of the red wire goes to the vehicle battery and gets connected to the butt connector on the fuse holder. The other end of the fuse holder has a ring terminal attached to it and that gets connected to the positive post of the vehicle battery.

It's going to come with your 15 amp fuse, it goes right here in the fuse holder, it's got the cap on there to keep the fuse safe and protected. Once you have all that connected you can secure the wiring, any access or slack in the wiring, with cable ties. Then once your installation is complete the four way connector is going to be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch. We do recommend using a mounting bracket to keep it secured as well as easily accessible. Mounting brackets are sold separately and can be found right here at etrader.com. It's also recommend that you use a small amount of grease on all your electrical connections like the plugs on the vehicle and the four fold flat connector itself. The grease is designed to help prevent corrosion to the connection points. The grease packet is included with the kit.
