Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. and today we'll be taking a look at our Coghlan's log carrier. This is going to be an open bag designed to carry your firewood. That way, once you get to your campsite, you're ready to go. So this is a cotton canvas bag and you do have polyester webbing giving it support. This is a large open design and this allows you to carry around a couple bundles of firewood.

I had about two bundles and I definitely had space for more. So compared to a regular open bag. This does have a U-shaped support for the bottom and that way your rounder logs can be supported, but then you also have with this open design if you then over stack the wood you can have it sticking out, but still supported. What I did notice about that canvas material is it is really durable. Even after loading up the wood, bringing it over to the campsite, bringing it over to the car, lagging it around, and even with the wood being pokey, I haven't noticed any splinters or punctures in that material.

So the bag definitely is helpful for keeping all the firewood contained and the small pieces inside the bag. It is also good for distributing the firewood making it easier to carry around. There is one thing to consider though, when firewood is loaded in this bag and you set it down, notice how it spreads apart. When I was loading this into my trunk, I had to make sure to tuck the firewood in and try to hold it together as I close the door or else it would take up too much space in the back of my car. While you do have a hook and loop strap holder to hold the two straps together this might not be enough to hold the entire bag together, especially if it's on a cargo carrier off the back of your vehicle or in your hatch.

In those cases, I would recommend just grabbing an extra cam buckle strap to cinch it all together during travel. So some personal thoughts about this log carrier is I do like how it makes it a lot easier to carry around your firewood. It's strong, it's durable. It prevents firewood and splinters from ending up in your hands, on your arms, or in your vehicle. The downside to this bag though is that I wish it had more pockets or any pockets because that's where I could put my matches, my lighter, some fire starter.

Also, you do have to be mindful that a strap would be needed to cinch the bag down if you keep this on a cargo carrier behind your vehicle or in your truck bed. But with all things considered, solid log carrier. This was a look at the Coghlan's firewood carrier or log carrier here at etrailer.com.
