Jeff: Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Rampage black rear recovery bumper for your Jeep, with this nice swing away spare tire carrier. Now this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 1976 to 1983 Jeep CJ-5s, the 1976 to 1986 Jeep CJ-7s, and it also works on the '87 to '95 Jeep Wrangler YJs and the '97 to 2006 Wrangler TJs. And on a custom fit part like this I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this'll work on your application.Now, this is a nice heavy duty recovery bumper that'll replace your vehicle's factory rear bumper. It's a 3/16" thick steel plate construction, which is very sturdy and built for off-road use.

They do use a nice semi-gloss black dual-stage powder coat finish on it. It makes it very durable and corrosion resistant. And what's nice about this is this does include this nice swing-away. It's a built-in swing-away spare tire carrier which will operate independently of your tailgate. And basically what you'll do is you have this pin right here that you just release.

And then there's this latch here, it's a nice heavy duty, easy to use latch. All you have to do is pull it like that and then it unhooks. And just like that you can see it'll swing your spare tire carrier away from your vehicle. It has a nice sturdy hinge on it, it uses bearings on it. It has a built-in stop, you can see it'll only let it go out this far, keeps the carrier from swinging out beyond the side of your Jeep.And you can see right up here is where you'll attach your spare tire to.

It comes with the lug nuts to hold it on to three bolts here. Now, the maximum spare tire size you can use on this is a 35" diameter tire. But again, we just swing it back, and then to hook it just put it on to there, hook it. And then just bring your latch around, push it all the way closed, and it'll hold it into place. And then take your pin here and clip, and that'll keep the handle from opening up, secures it into place.Now also, if you notice, I'm going to zoom in here, we'll talk about some of the features on the bumper itself.

If you look right down here, they do include a two-inch hitch receiver. This'll let you use any hitch mounted accessories with your Jeep. Now, one note is the receiver on this bumper is designed only for use with accessories, you don't want to use it for any type of towing. It does come with the 2" shackle mounts right over here, one on each side. And this has the removable D-rings, it'll let you perform recovery operations.Also, right here, you notice these 4" round holes. These are integrated receptacles and let you add two exhilarating can lights, up to 4" in diameter. Now the lights are not included, those we do sell separately. This will give you nice ground level lighting, allows for maximum light distribution. And what's nice is the lights will be inside there so they're recessed. Helps prevent damage to those lights. Now, when installing this bumper you may have to relocate the Jeep's third brake light. But again, just to show you how this operates let me go ahead and zoom out.And again, if you want to get into the rear of your Jeep just remove the pin and clip. And it is tethered so it stays there, you don't lose it. And then just flip open your latch, unhook it, swing it all the way out. And again, it'll only go as far. Just like that, and it stops from going all the way. And you can get into the back of your Jeep. When you're done, just swing the spare right around, and then just hook it. Once it's hooked bring your latch over, push it closed, and then for extra security go ahead and pin it, and you're ready to go.
