The Lend-A-Hand RV Handrail looks and works great. I installed the mounting screws into the stud near the door frame. Very sturdy. I put a dab of silicone caulk into the holes per manufacturer's suggest. Directions enclosed were simple and concise. Took about 15 minutes. The handrail shipped right on time and I was able to track my order online.
Hopefully my pics will show up. Great job Etrailer as usual!
Sincerely,
Mike T.

This is my first time ordering from etrailer and won't be the last. The hand rail is even larger than I anticipated! My husband put it on our Coachman travel trailer the same day it arrived! As I am getting older I am having issues from old knee injuries with mobility. This works great to assist me getting in and out of our camper. It has easy instructions to install and It folds away for travel. I wish I would have found it sooner. Big thumbs up!

We hAve not used our trailer much but what time i have used the hand rail I would not trade for anything! 5 stars!

by:

The handle was easily installed though it did need a little re-positioning. This handle is so much better than the handle installed on our camper.
The shipping time was very quick.

by:

This is just one of the MANY things I've ordered from etrailer. I can always rely on etrailer on low prices on quality items. Name brand items you can get locally but you will pay an arm and a leg for it. There shipping is fast and i've always received the item in good condition. Great place to shop!!

this product works awesome still after a year. No issues whatso ever and it helps tremendously getting in and out of my popup pickup camper. Totally recommend this product for others who is in need.

by:

Nice lightweight grab handle. Easy installation and seems to do the job when in use and when not in use folded back out of the way.

by:

Excellent support device to lend a hand getting into or out of trailer , helps keep you stable.

by:

This handle far exceeds my expectations !! It's lightweight , but very strong and sturdy ! I'm so glad I chose the white . Everything about my experience with your company has been outstanding !!! Thank you so much for all your help !!! I have recommended you to everyone !!!

by:

Right part on time, Will use etrailer again.

by:

Love it!

by:

This grab bar was just what I needed. I installed the grab bar at the door entry to the laundry room from the garage. It was very easy to install and the price was very reasonable.

by:

Great quality & easy innstall

by:

It came so promptly. However I thought I got an empty box it was so light! So easy to install! It was delivered and on my camper in less than 45 minutes. We had heard of people being worried that someone from the outside could lock you in by flipping over the handle. Although it holds it well in the folded position, pushing on the door from the inside will easily flip it back open. Although my wife really likes it for entering the camper, I never thought how much it steadies me exiting the camper.
It came yesterday and we take out the trailer for the 1st time this weekend, so this should give us a good use test, but just loading up it was so handy! Thanks for a great product.
If there is any "con", I was a bit surprised that it fits a bit loose when in the extended position. It doesn't really affect using it, but it doesn't give a "rock solid" feel that I was kind of expecting.

We have since sold that RV, but we know the family that has it and it is still working great for them. They love it.

by:

Easy to install. Overall a very solid product. This will make going up and down the stairs much safer.

by:

THE REPLACEMENT UNIT WAS BETTER THAN THE ORIGNAL
THANKS

by:

Just what I expected, and installation was a breeze

by:

This is an excellent handle for my truck camper. It was a replacement for the original handle that had broken. Shipping was very quick. Although the handle and dimensions were an exact size, I did have to redrill for several screws. However it was quick and easy and actually is a stronger mount than the original. Since I found the same handle for a cheaper price elsewhere, etrailer quickly refunded me the difference as well. I have bought many things from them before, and will continue since they offer such quality products and a high level of service. Thank you etrailer!

Great! Holding up well.

by:

On a previous travel trailer had the Grab Handle and worked good for my wife. This one was purchased for my mother who has 3 steps going up to her garage. She didn't want a full blown hand rail so we compromised with the Grab Handle. She's very happy with something to grab onto to help steady as she goes up and down those couple of steps.

Working just great

by:

Website easy to use, good price, and fast delivery makes etrailer a great place to buy RV parts. I'm waiting for warm weather to install my grab handle but have used it on other RV'S and it's very helpful entering your RV.

It has provided that little extra help needed as you get older to enter and exit our motorhome.

by:

Quick delivery and perfect fit!

by:

I just recieved it yesterday, haven't installed yet so cannot give full review. Appear to be adequate.

by:

Purchased these because my wife had an issue with her knee and couldn’t climb into my truck camper. These were Excellent use of my money and saved my camping season in 2018.

by:

This is a great product. I have two steps leading from my house to my garage. I installed it on the wall of my garage to help my husband, because he has a difficult time getting up and down these steps. I plan to get one for the other side of the steps. It looks great and is a big help for him. Thank you for a great product.

Its been over a year now since I purchased the grab bar for my garage. It has worked out great and since than I have purchased three more for the bedroom and the bathroom to make it easier for my husband to get around. This is a great produce.Eileen

by:

I have a 2009 model truck camper I stepped out of the back of it with an arm load of items grab the handle and it broke off ordered a new one from you all it came in pretty quick install in the same day looks great thanks for your help yeah

by:

It did work on the right side but if you pull down on the handrail it could come out of the notch because you have to turn it over if you screw it close to the door but think it will still work.

  • Can the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-200 be Mounted to an Aluminum Surface
You can use the included screws to mount Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-200 to the aluminum mounting surface. Or, if the aluminum surface is thin or otherwise not strong enough by itself for just 4 screws then you can use bolts and nuts obtained locally along with a backing plate to secure the handle. You would put the bolts through the mounting holes, through the aluminum surface, and through the backing plates and then thread on and tighten the nuts. The backing plates will disperse...

The TorkLIft # TLA8102 will be a good fit for your trailer if the "Entry Height" is between 18-1/2" and 28" and the Mounting Bracket width is no more than 25-1/2". To determine Entry Height, measure from the ground up to the top of the the bracket frame that held the old steps. The product page has a picture showing how to measure. Then, determine the "Mounting Bracket Width". If your mounting bracket is no more than 25-1/2" wide then the # TLA8102 is a fit. If you have different measurements...

  • Troubleshooting Stromberg Lend a Hand That is Loose in the Mounts
If the spring loaded handle of the Lend-a-Hand part # AM-200 is loose in the mounts there really isn't a way to tighten or fix that since it's a spring setup that's not replaceable. What you'd need to do is replace the entire handle.

  • How to Install the Lend-A-Hand with a Backing Plate
Installing the Lend-A-Hand # AM-200 using a backing plate would disperse the force across a wider area than if simply installed using bolts into the metal/fiberglass panels, so spreading that weight across a larger area is how you avoid damaging the wall. If you can't locate a door stud to install this into, your best bet would be to use a backing plate that was larger than the area that you're installing the handle to; this unit is 24" tall, so I'd recommend using a plate that was at least...

  • Could Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle Lock You in RV
Your concern about being potentially trapped inside your RV is certainly a valid one, and also a common one with the Stromberg Carlson Lend-a-Hand. While there isn't a way to easily stop it from pivoting across the front of the door, there truly is nothing to worry about here as it will not trap you inside your RV. If some mean individual did try and do that to you for some reason, all you would need to do is push your door open and the handle will flip back into place without issue. I...

If the black base to the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle for RVs # AM-200 is loose it sounds like you will need to tighten the two screws that attach the handrail to your trailer. • Where is the Best Place to Install Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-200
The answer is wherever works best for you! Generally the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-200 is mounted on the exterior wall of an RV or trailer right next to the door opening. If you have a door that opens outward then you will want to place it on the side opposite of the door hinges. Otherwise you will not be able to use the handle when you open the door. • How To Determine If There Is Backing Needed to Mount the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle
Generally speaking, there will be sufficient backing directly beside the door on your trailer so that you can effectively secure the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle part # AM-200. If you push on the metal exterior that should then give you a good idea where the supports are located. If you need to be exact though then you would have to reach out to Jayco as this is not information we have available.

That is a pretty cruel prank someone could pull, and dangerous. You would need to either prevent the handle from being folded towards the door by blocking the path or secure the handle so it sticks out all the time. You would do something as simple as inserting a small screw or something else adjacent to where the handle pivots on the door side so it cannot be put in that location. I have incldued a...
