Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Rearview Safety Camera. This is a very small camera and it can be used as a backup camera. So if you have it mounted on the back of your RV or vehicle, it will allow you to easily back up to hook up to a trailer or to see the surroundings, make sure that you're not going to cause any damage to property or to people. It could also be used as a rearview monitor.

So as you're driving down the road, sometimes it's hard to see what's behind you in a bigger RV or something like that. So you can mount this on the back there so you can basically have a rearview mirror showing you the vehicles behind you so that it's easier to change lanes and whatnot. Could also be used as a forward-facing camera.So if you mount it on the grill of a larger truck or your motor home, it's going to make it easier for you to see the distance that you have until you make contact with another vehicle or parking post or whatever you have. So it's going to make it much easier, it's going to give you the options to mount it, where you need it. It does swivel on the base there.

So you can see it's going to give you adjustability. It does have a 170 degree viewing angle, so not quite the full 180, but still going to give you lots of vision of what's going on around you. It does have a five pin connector. So it's going to be compatible with any of your monitors or GPS systems that allow an AV input. This does also have night vision for your low light conditions so that you can see, even if you get to the camp site late at night and you're needing to back into your spot, it will help you with that.As I said, it is very small, compact design.

So overall width, we're at less than an inch and then our height, again, less than an inch. So overall very, very compact. It's going to be a very discreet, not going to ruin the look of your vehicle or your motor home by putting this on there, it's hardly going to be noticeable at all. It's also very durable. This does have an IP 68 rating.

So that's one of the highest waterproof and dustproof ratings in the IP rating system. So you're not going to have to worry about any dust or water getting in there and causing problems. It does have a vibration rating of up to 10Gs and an impact rating of a 100Gs. So it's going to be very durable, going to allow you to put it where you need it and not worry about any vibrations or impact causing damage.It does come with a one-year warranty from Rearview Safety. And overall, I think this is going to be a great add on camera. You can see it's got a little plug here so that after you drill your hole to run this into your system, you can plug that up. But I think this is going to be a great add on if you already have a system in place that accepts that audio video feed, this little camera is going to be a great option for you. To plug that in either as like a second camera or as a primary camera into a system that doesn't already have one but will accept one. They're going to give you mounting hardware and a adhesive pad to get this mounted in place. And of course the cable to get it plugged into your system.You will probably need an extension of this. Obviously, if you're mounting this basically anywhere on your vehicle, it's not going to reach to your monitor in the cab. So you will need to have an extension.
