This dielectric grease is great for making permanent outdoor wiring connections. It does a great job at helping fight rust and corrosion. Used on the attaching metal parts in combination with electrical tape on the outside of the parts, it really keeps the parts working for many years into the future. I also use it on the vehicle side of trailer wiring to ensure proper connections to avoid lighting failure while heading down the road with a trailer. Just add some when necessary to keep it covered and it helps a lot.

Exactly what I needed to rewire a 20-year-old trailer that was starting to show it's age with inconsistent lighting performance and continuity issues. In addition to purchasing this lighting harness, I upgraded all my incandescent bulb side markers and taillights with LED units and complete rewired the trailer. etrailer had everything I needed in one place with excellent pricing and superb service. Everything is working great and I love the brightness and visibility of the LED lights.

by:

Thought I had a bad wire but it turned out it was some water and crud in the connector. Grease fixed it. Keep it in my trailer tool box.

by:

A little tube of dielectric grease - works as it should: smear it on the electrical terminals of the trailer's electrical connector (or in any other automotive electrical contact that you want to protect from the elements) and it helps keep moisture and corrosion at bay . Grease is, by its nature, a tad messy - but this product works well for its intended purpose.

by:

I bought a small tube of dielectric grease back in the '70's when I lived in Iowa. All the humidity and winter-time salt on the roads caused many shorts in the electrical connections of older vehicles (1969 Camaro).

I've lived in Arizona since the late 80's, but my tube was about empty and I saw this on your website (plus I needed an item or two to get free shipping!). What little is in my old tube now resides in the electrical toolbox.

Five stars for etrailer!

It is dialectic grease. It is loctite brand. What more can you ask for.

One year later and no corrosion in any connector or light socket.

by:

Used it on new T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector once installed, and will use it for vehicle and trailer light bulbs and other electrical connections. Good product.

by:

Product assembled as expected, less the metal bracket that doesn't assemble to the frame without partially removing the bumper. I chose not to mess with the bumper and directly mounted the unit to the bumper as others have done. Other than attempting to attach the bracket to the frame without luck, the assembly only took 20 minutes.

by:

I haven't opened this one as yet. I've been using the dielectric grease that came with the four flat connection. I plan to keep the connections clean and apply additional grease as needed.

by:

Installed fine on my 05 Hyundai Santa Fe. Watching both videos helped with the installation. I also was sure to use the Loctite dielectric grease.

by:

Perfect fit and the right wiring connection for my Karavan trailer

by:

Great for all your automotive and travel trailer electrical needs.

by:

Typical tube of Dielectric Grease, works well.

by:

Dielectric grease to help my trailer connectors. Works great!

by:

I am completely satisfied. The package arrived quickly and I was able to install on my truck the same day with help from the installation videos. I will definitely purchase from etrailer.com in the future. I have saved money by spending with etrailer.com and doing the upgrades myself.

by:

etrailer ROCKS! great service, great products, and the customer service is the best! They make sure your purchasing the correct product for your project the first time.

by:

Dielectric grease is a must in order to have solid connections. Even if you live in a drier climate, you need this.

by:

Bailey was more knowledgeable than the manufacturer of the parts I purchased. The order was shipped out the same day. Spectacular service to say the least!

by:

seems to work very good and makes it easier to plug in connectors.

by:

Exactly what I needed etrailer had. Fast delivery everything I ordered was in great condition. Great service. Have ordered from etrailer several times, always on time and is exactly what was ordered.

by:

Works as expected. Precision Tip simplified application. Appreciated that I could get all the install accessories delivered at the same time as the hitch itself.

by:

Product and service were great. Installed in less than 20 minutes after watching etrailer and you tube videos.

by:

The perfect size for my application.

by:

Product worked excellent when encountering a tight fit on electrical connection. Very pleased.

  • Part Needed to Convert 1999 Ford F-350 Trailer Wiring From 6-Pole to 7-Way RV Blade Type Socket
You can use the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 7-, 5- and 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM48470 to convert your Ford pickup from a 6-pole connector to the 7-way blade type connector (and you'll get a 4-pole and 5-pole flat included) or you can use the 7-way-only part # PK12-707E. Both have screw terminal connections on the back to allow you to join your existing wiring. The linked article on trailer wiring shows you the function format for 5th wheels. You can use a tester like # PTW2993...

I reached out to MaxxAir for the Replacement Printed Circuit Board # MA10A21275K and any updates. The current C version has been updated with better resistors to better regulate both voltage and amperage. It does include a coating for corrosion resistance from moisture on the board itself. Be sure to use Dielectric Grease # LT37534 on the connectors since they are not coated otherwise it would interfere with the connection.

Depending if you already have a 7-way connector installed or not on your 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe will determine the amount of additional parts that will be needed when installing a brake controller. First, the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN # TK63VR, that you referenced is a quality controller that will work well with your Tahoe. • Troubleshooting Running Lights on Trailer Not Working
There are a number of troubleshooting steps you can take in order to determine the specific problem, but if these were working before it likely isn't a fuse or relay, it is almost certainly the wiring on your trailer or tow vehicle. To start you will need to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2979 to test the connector on your tow vehicle after disconnecting it from your trailer. Check the wiring going into your harness from your tail lights to see if those wires are carrying the correct...

Thank you for your purchase from etrailer of TowReady T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118426. Since this is a plug-and-play (no splicing) harness the first thing you can check is the integrity of the connections at your Escape's tail lights. Disconnect the harness and inspect both the harness and vehicle connectors for any bent or discolored contacts; even slight greenish or whitish discoloration can indicate enough corrosion that it could interfere with signal transmission. For your 1997 Chevrolet 1500 truck, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness, # 41125. This harness will quickly install on your vehicle using a simple T-connector to plug into your OEM wiring. You will not have to cut or splice into your existing wiring. I also recommend using dielectric grease, # LT37534, when installing this wiring harness. Just a apply a small amount in each of the harness's plug end prior to installation. Wiring harnesses for the 2011 Kia Soul such as the Curt # C56222 that fits versions without LED lights can certainly be re-installed in a different vehicle so long as that other vehicle is compatible. As it happens the 2015 Soul can use this same trailer wiring harness so it will work for you. • Will a Dead Battery In the Breakaway Box Cause Trailer Brakes to Not Disengage?
A dead battery would not be the cause of your brakes not disengaging. A dead battery would have the complete opposite effect on your brakes. A dead battery wouldn't send the electric signal to engage the electric brakes and no electric signal would mean no brakes at all from the breakaway standpoint, but you will still have brake signal from your brake controller. When you connect your tow vehicle, that will send signal to your trailer brakes only when the brakes are engaged on your...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights That Do Not Work on Wiring Harness in 2008 Honda Element
Thank you for your hitch purchase earlier this year. When some trailer lights work, such as the brake and turn lights, but the running lights do not work properly, the most common cause is a weak ground connection. This is because a weak ground will be able to pass enough current to operate lights that come on sometimes, such as turn and brake lights, but NOT enough current to also operate the always-on running lights. If a certain function does not work at all at any time then it is likely...
