Video Transcript for ATV E-Track Ratcheting Tie-Down System Review

Today on this ATV and trailer we'll be demonstrating the Snap-Loc E track stainless ratcheting cargo strap. Now this strap does come in two colors, red, part number SLSRS16R, as well as blue, part number SLSRS16B. Now this heavy duty ratcheting cargo strap will safely tie down your gear. A loop at one end serves as a soft tie for bikes and the E track fittings at both ends will attach to any E track anchor point. It's constructed of stainless steel, which will stand up to harsh weather and rain use. Now on our ATV we'll be demonstrating the various ways to tie it down.

Today we'll be using one of the red Snap-Loc stainless ratcheting cargo straps as well as the Snap-Loc hook, part number SLH. We'll also be using the Erickson tie down assist straps, part number 06303. Well begin by taking the assist strap and wrapping it around our handle bar here. Now we want to make sure that we go around the wires that may go up on your handle bars as we dont want to pinch them. Now that we have our assist strap around our handle bars we'll take our red ratcheting cargo strap and using the hook, part number SLH, we'll take the soft loop on the strap and feed it through the hook.

We can then take our hook and attach it to our assist strap where we will move down and attach the E track side of our strap to the E track here on our trailer. We'll then ratchet the strap down securing our ATV to the trailer. Now the convenient hook and loop strap that is attached to our Snap-Loc can be used to wrap up our access strap and store it away. We'll move over here to the passenger side where we'll repeat the same process. Now on the rear of our ATV we'll use another Snap-Loc ratcheting cargo strap, wrap it around the frame and secure it on the other side.

Now with our ATV secured in three points on our trailer we're ready to head out on the road safely. That completes our demonstration of the Snap-Loc E track stainless ratcheting cargo strap with soft tie loop, part numbers SLSRS16B and SLSRS16R. Also using part number SLH, the Snap-Loc hook and part number 06303, the Erickson tie down assist straps, on our ATV and trailer.

  • Motor Scooter Carrier Work with a 2005 Yamaha Vino 125 Scooter
Yes, the motorcycle carriers should work but with the 10 inch wheel and tire combination on your Vino, you may have to do a bit of adjustment for the wheels to fit between the rungs of the carrier properly. I checked the specs of the Vino and it weighs 166 pounds dry weight, so it would weigh about 200 pounds overall. It is 66 inches long overall so you should be able to use the Ultra-Fab Motorcycle Carrier, part # UF48-979033, with no problems. A set of Motorcycle Tie-Down Assist Straps,...

  • Options for Securing Motorcyle to Trailer
The Removable Motorcycle Wheel Chock, part # TWSPWM would be an excellent choice for securing the motorcycle to the trailer. The Wheel Chock includes mounting hardware appropriate for a wood trailer floor. Using something like the Motorcycle Assist Straps, part # 06303 along with ratchet straps like part # 34413 would work well for you.

  • Recommendations for Securing a 900 Pound Harley-Davidson Motorcycle to a Trailer
There are probably some sort of fancy anchors that you could get from a hardware store but I have a better, more secure and safe option for you. You can install some E-track such as # E19148 using numerous fasteners which will better distribute the weight. Then you would just need some D-rings for the tie downs, # E59143, and straps to secure to the handle bars # 06303 (to avoid any scuffs to the chrome). Then it is just a matter of using ratchet straps such as # EM05710 is you need some.

  • Recommended Motorcycle Carrier or Trailer for Yamaha Majestic 400 Scooter
For your Yamaha Majestic 400 Scooter, I recommend the etrailer Motorcycle Carrier # e98873. This carrier weighs 58 lbs, so you will need a trailer hitch receiver capable of the tongue weight with your receiver. If you do not have this, then I recommend the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer - 7-1/2' Long - 1,640 lbs # K2MMT5X7 along with the Tow-Rax Removable Wheel Chock # TWSPWM. This will give you a sturdy wheel chock with a wide, sturdy, base. With either option, you...

  • Transporting Motorcycle Recommendations Using a Trailer Hitch Receiver
To carry a motorcycle on your 2017 Toyota Sienna, I recommend starting with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75237 rated for a tongue weight of 675 lbs. Your vehicle states the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle is 385 lbs (11 percent of 3,500). For your trailer wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118648 unless you have the SE model in which case I recommend # 118498. This will give you a 4-way flat trailer connection...

  • Can the RackEm Wheel Chock # RA-17 Balance a Honda Goldwing Without Tie Downs
You would not want to rely on the Rack'Em Manufacturing Removable Wheel Chock # RA-17 as a means to balance your Honda Goldwing before you attach tie downs to it. Your best option would be to have the tie downs attached to the trailer and sitting in an accessible position for you while you are still on the bike. When I used to load my dirt bike into the bed of a truck I would first run the tie-downs to the stake pockets of the truck and then have them setting on the bed rails so that...

  • Wheel Chock Recommendation to Carry a Honda CRF250L in the Bed of a Truck
Since you want to install a chock in the bed of your truck I recommend something that is easily removable so the bed is clear when you need it to be. For that I recommend using Tow-Rax Removable Wheel Chock # TWSPWC with mounting hardware kit # TWPH2770 for metal floors. I have linked a video review of this chock for you. This does mean you would have to drill through the truck bed. I also recommend using handlebar straps # 06303 in conjunction with ratchet straps such as # EM05729 when...

  • How to Carry a Motorcycle with a Toyota RAV4
I have a solution for you, but after doing a little research, I found that the tongue weight capacity of the base and sport models of the RAV4 is approximately 150 lbs and the tongue weight capacity of the limited model is approximately 350 lbs. I would not recommend using any hitch mounted motorcycle carrier on a 2006 Toyota RAV4 to carry your 325 lb bike because the vehicle cannot support the weight of the bike and the carrier. Instead, I would recommend either looking into a larger...

  • Recommended Motorized Scooter Carrier for Class V Trailer Hitch
For your Class V trailer hitch receiver on your 2000 Class C Motorhome, you can use a reducer sleave like the # BWRHXA2182 then use the motorcycle carrier for a 2 inch receiver. These are not rated for RV use in this capacity, so it would be at your own discretion. If you choose to do so or use it on a different vehicle, the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 77" Long - 500 lbs # UF48-979033 is a great option. I recommend using the hitch pin lock # e98880, the...

  • Can Motorcycle Carrier Be Mounted To Front Of A Motorhome
The Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier for 2" Hitches - With Ramp - 80" Long - 500 lbs # UF48-979033 can be mounted to the front of a 24V View Motorhome as long as the front mounted hitch is able to handle the vertical load weight of the Honda Rebel and the carrier combined weight of 391 lbs. The only other thing to consider is the front mounting can limit your view and should not block your headlights. To secure the carrier and the bike, I recommend the hitch lock # e98882 and the ProGrip...

  • Best Tie-Down Recommendation for a Pine Wood Floor Flatbed Trailer Carrying Motorcycles
I think installing the Recessed Trailer D-Ring, # RR5K, that you have referenced, would be better than # LRB1, because the backing plate is going to help distribute the load from the ring which would be better for your wood decking and make for stronger connection points. If you use this kit with the backing plate an attachment to the frame is not required as the backing plate, which would be underneath the wood floor, would prevent the hardware from pulling out. The only down side to...

The Zinc Sheet Metal Screw - 8 x 3/4" Indented Hex Washer Head - Hex Slotted Drive # 31071 are a good choice for your wall studs, but not for your 3/4 inch wood floors. The zinc coating on both the E-track # E19148 and the screws will prevent galvanic corrosion from the dissimilar metals of steel and aluminum. For your floors, I recommend using zinc plated screws along with locknuts to secure your bikes using backing plate # e96RR. You can obtain that hardware from your local hardware...

For your Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75579 is rated for a tongue weight of 400 lbs. The motorcycle weight of 370 lbs will not work with this hitch because the lightest carrier # e98873 weighs just at 58 lbs which puts you over the max capacity. My recommendation is to use this hitch along with the Detail K2 Mighty Multi Utility Trailer - 6' Long - 1,295 lbs # K2MMT4X6 with your bike at a diagonal. I also recommend using tie-downs like the Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down...

  • Solution For Carrying Vespa 150 Scooter On Back Of 5th Wheel Travel Trailer
Yes, a hitch-mounted motorcycle carrier would be your best option for carrying your Vespa 150 scooter on your 5th wheel travel trailer. I think the best carrier for you is the Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier # UF48-979033. This is RV-compatible and has a built-in ramp to allow for easy loading or unloading. • Options for Carrying 540lb Motorcycle with 2001 Nissan Frontier
Although we do offer tray-style motorcycle carriers, the 400-500 lb tongue weight capacity of the hitch, which is the maximum downward force that can safely be applied, would be exceeded by the weight of your bike. This would cause the hitch or its attachment points on the truck to fail while you're transporting the bike, which would be very bad. A small trailer like # K2MMT5X7 would be a good alternative. Or, you could carry the bike in the bed of your truck using a ramp like part # EM07464,...

  • Can a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 be Carried on an etrailer Motorcycle Carrier
I would not attempt to carry a 2002 Shadow Spirit 750 on the etrailer motorcycle carrier, item # e98873. Your best bet for transporting your motorcycle would be a small trailer equipped with a wheel chock like part # RA-17. There are simply too many variables with a street bike that size, and you may have trouble with the spare tire on the Jeep. Since the trailer hitch on your RV has a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, it is safe to assume that it has a 500 lb tongue weight. Then you will need tie downs. For tie downs ShockStrap has a set of 4 straps specifically for motorcycles, # 297-7RSBB-M. With the built in shocks these straps won't accidently slip off. You will be about 50-100 lbs too heavy for the front hitch and well over 200 lbs more than the limit of the rear mounted RV hitch when you add the weight of a carrier as well.
