Hi everybody. My name is Andy, with etrailer.com. And today we are looking at Coghlan's hammock carabiners. Now these carabiners will connect your hammock to straps or to a stand. And as we take a closer look at them, you will see that they have nice smooth edges. And these smooth edges will reduce the chances of snags, or damage to your hammock, or to the straps that you use.
These are also good for attaching other items to your paps, or to your canoes or tents or to your belt loops as well. However, if you're going to use one of these for your belt loop to keep your keys on there, something like that, I would recommend one of our lighter duty options. These are a little bit more heavier than some of the options that we would have that you would use to put your keys on a belt loop or something like that. These can hold up to about 1,102 pounds. These are made of iron.
So they are a little more on the heavy duty side, as we have said. And they do have a nice black powder coat finish on these carabiners to protect it from rust and corrosion. Now, even though these are heavy duty iron, they are still not suitable for climbing. So if you're looking for a carabiners to use for climbing, these would not be the options for you. These do have a spring loaded closer, and it makes the carabiners easy to open and close.
And when you put these on straps or you put this on the stand for your hammock, you will know that they will close tightly and securely, and you won't have to worry about that. Well, we have a closeup here, let's take a look at some measurements. Taking my handy ruler here. Just taking a look at the length of these. The length here, sits right at about a three and one eighth inches, on the length.
And then getting a measurement at its widest point. The measurement there is sitting at about one and three quarters inches, there at the widest point. Now, these do come in a quantity of two.
